To uninstall Quicken, you need to keep a few things in mind.
First being, you don’t need to uninstall any previous version of Quicken if you are installing a new one. The installer itself detects if there is any old version of Quicken is installed and will uninstall it for you so that you won’t need to manually uninstall prior to installing the new one.
Secondly, the data isn’t erased when you uninstall Quicken. Rather the data will be available in the current location. But you should always maintain a backup before uninstalling Quicken in order to be safe. There may unexpected errors may occur which may corrupt the data files. Hence, it is a good habit to maintain a backup before proceeding to take any steps to uninstall.
To uninstall Quicken, the procedure is almost same in Windows 10 and Windows 7/8 with a little bit of difference. Though, it could be uninstalled as any other windows application.
To uninstall Quicken from Windows 7/8, you should first go to control panel. In the control panel, you will see various icons of which there will be one which is named Programs. After selecting Uninstall a program in the programs section, a new window will appear which will list all the application that you have. From the list, Click the entry which is for Quicken and select Uninstall/Change. You may be asked to give the administrator password and if it asks, you should provide the administrator password and click OK. The Quicken will be uninstalled thus.
In windows 10, the menus get changed a little bit and hence, the procedure also changes a little bit. You should go to Start and then select Settings. A new window will appear where there will be various options pointing to configure various settings for the desktop/laptop. Select Apps and it will list all the applications that are installed in the computer. You can uninstall various applications from this very menu. When you click on any app, two buttons will appear which are Modify and Uninstall. To uninstall e.g. Quicken, you should click the Uninstall button and then follow the on-screen procedure to uninstall the program. Any other program on the list could also be removed from the computer via this same procedure.
